Joshua Jackson has filed an emergency custody modification, alleging that his ex-wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, enrolled their 5-year-old daughter, Juno, in a new school without his consent. Jackson contends this move violates their custody agreement and expresses concern that Turner-Smith may be attempting to have Juno travel with her, rather than attend a traditional school setting.   In response, Turner-Smith shared a cryptic Instagram Story featuring cartoon villains with the caption: “Why don’t you like that person? They seem so nice.” She added, “
stay safe out there
.”  The couple finalized their divorce in May 2025, agreeing to joint custody of Juno. However, disputes over educational decisions remain unresolved. Court documents indicate that Turner-Smith was granted final decision-making authority on Juno’s education, provided she consults Jackson.   Jackson argues that Juno is thriving at her current school and that additional changes, including the loss of his home in the Los Angeles fires earlier this year, could be disruptive to her well-being.  The former couple is scheduled to return to mediation later this month to address the ongoing custody and schooling disputes.
